Karen Chan is a second year business marketing and communications major at CSULB and one of AMA’s newest and youngest communications directors. Since becoming the junior marketing director at Jayvee Dance Productions while in high school, she has developed a passion for marketing where she lives, breathes, eats, sleeps, and dances marketing. Her life as a motivated and dedicated marketing student consists of staying long hours at school for AMA, being addicted to Facebook, die-hard Yelping for well-deserved food-eats, dreaming of one day working at an advertisement agency, and promoting dance classes as a long-time dancer for Boogiezone Inc. Her favorite times in AMA include networking with industry professionals, the countless friendships and staying up till one in the morning during finals week lining up for free RedBull with her AMAzing partner in crime, Shannon Kula!

I fell in love with AMA from the beginning and by the end of my first semester knew it was something I wanted to be a bigger part of. Now as the Communication Director for CSULB AMA, I take on a leadership role in the organization as well as keep up with the social media, the CSULB AMA website, and event flyer. My favorite thing about AMA is that I get to meet new people all the time. I feel like everyone I meet I can learn something from. For me, AMA is so much more than building a network.
